How long does it take to get a dental crown?

Dental Crown | Allentown, PAIn most cases, it takes two to three weeks, from start to finish, to place a durable porcelain dental crown

While the materials and techniques used have improved dramatically over the years, the steps involved with getting a new dental crown in Allentown are basically the same as they have been for decades.

The Steps for Getting a New Dental Crown

  • The first step is to prepare your tooth to receive the crown. Since the restoration adds bulk, we need to remove an equal amount from the tooth so that the crown fits well and looks natural.
  • Next, we take impressions of your teeth that we use to create a model. We then use the model to create a temporary crown, and a top custom dental lab in our area uses it to fabricate your new all-porcelain dental restoration.
  • In about two weeks, your final crown will be ready, and you will return to Evolve Dental Care. Our dentists will check the restoration for fit, ensure that it doesn’t interfere with your dental bite, and cement it securely in place on the prepared tooth.

If you have been considering a new dental crown in Allentown but need more information, please call Evolve Dental Care for an appointment. Dr. Amir or Dr. Sunny will be happy to meet with you to evaluate your needs, answer your questions, and explain your options.
